Marston School was founded in 1716 by Dame Margaret Thorold to fulfil the wishes of her late husband, Sir John Thorold, Baronet. Lands were settled to pay for the education of fifteen children in the parish of Marston. The children were to be taught to read, write and ‘cast account’; the basic ‘three R’s’ of that time.
We believe that children learn best when staff and parents work together in close partnership and so we value parents involvement with our pupils education. We invite you to share your own, your family or friends memories with us and help us build the legacy of our school.
Pupils of the local school visit to London Zoo their around 1955 with their Headteacher Mr. Harry Burton.
